Paxton Family Reunion

Vallie & Alfred Paxton

Alfred Paxton of Kentuck, West Virginia, was born at Kettle, Roane Co., West Virginia on March 15, 1884.  He died at age 50 on April 28, 1934, 11:45 AM at Ravenswood, West Virginia (massive heart attack, per Bessie).  Alfred was the son of Peter L. Paxton [b 03.05.1847] at Walton, Roane Co., West Virginia [d 01.10.1926, age 81] and Elizabeth W. Summerfield [b 09.1849; d 08.07.1912, age 63].  Peter and Elizabeth (Eliza) were married on April 29, 1869.  They had 10 children.

Vallie Florence Lee of Flecher, West Virginia, was born May 25, 1891 at Roane Co. and died September 2, 1965 at the age of 74 at Ravenswood, West Virginia.  Vallie was the daughter of John William “J.W.” Lee [b 07.12.1864, d 06.13.1950, age 86] and Rebecca Alice (Raines) Lee [b 04.09.1866, d 03.23.1947, age 81].  J.W. and Rebecca were married on 10.24.1884.  They had 9 children.  Vallie was the third born of the nine children. Alfred and Vallie were married on June 19, 1910.  They had 8 children.

​After Alfred died on April 28, 1934, Vallie married Mr. Brewer in 1937, then divorced a couple of years later.  On December 2, 1943, she married Albert A. Proffitt [b 01.01.1880 at Hartford, WV, d 06.22.1949 at Ravenswood, WV, age 69 years].  They had no children together.
